Os Tigres Asiáticos são os países que se industrializaram tardiamente  na Ásia (obviamente). Estes países são: Singapura, Taiwan, China (Hong Kong) e Coreia do Sul. Também há os Novos Tigres Asiáticos, que se industrializaram após os Tigres Asiáticos. Estes países são: Malásia, Tailândia, Indonésia, Filipinas e Vietnã.
 
            As principais características econômicas desses países são que eles destacam os programas de crescimento econômico junto ao desenvolvimento social.
            Também os investimentos feitos no setor educacional fizeram com que todas as crianças e adolescentes frequentassem a escola e cursassem o Ensino Superior, então, adivinha? A mão de obra é muito qualificada, produtiva e barata.
            Os Novos Tigres Asiáticos focaram em diminuir os impostos (para que as transnacionais se instalassem em seus territórios). A qualidade das mercadorias dos Novos T.A são inferiores em relação às mercadorias produzidas pelos T.A, e os índices de desenvolvimento também são inferiores em relação aos Tigres Asiáticos.
            Curiosidades:
• A palavra “tigre” é utilizada pra relacionar a força que os países mostraram no seu desenvolvimento.
• Os Estados Unidos e o Japão são os principais investidores e compradores dos
produtos produzidos pelos T.A.
                          

The Famous (Not so much) Asian Tigers

            The New Asian Tigers focused on lowering taxes (so that transnational corporations could settle in their territories). The quality of the goods from the New A.T is inferior to the goods produced by the A.T, and the rates of development are also inferior in relation to the Asian Tigers.

• The United States and Japan are the main investors and buyers of

products produced by A.T.
