Chapter 5: Valjean and Cosette

In this chapter Jean and Cosette arrive where they will live, a dark and small place, a good hiding place for Valjean. When they arrived, Cosette was asleep, so Jean carried her to her bed in a small, dark room with just a lamp. The next morning Cosette woke up and ran thinking she had to do the chores, but Jean stopped her and she realized that what had happened was not a dream, but that Jean had rescued her from the Thenandiers.
Valjean and Cosette’s life was going well, their only neighbor was an old lady who went there every afternoon to help with household chores, Jean passed by a homeless person and gave him some money, who when she looked him in the face of the homeless felt he was familiar, the next day the beggar was still there, he spoke to the homeless man and gave some more money, and came home happier. But at night Jean realized that the resident was Javert.
A few days went by and Cosette was doing her lessons when suddenly someone knocks on the door, it wasn’t the old lady because she had already left, Valjean tells Cosette to be quiet and put her to bed, and went towards the door, without making a noise, looked through the crack in the door and holding his breath, said: – Javert.
The next day Valjean was packing up to run away again, picked up Cosette and left, passing through the church and arriving at his new hiding place, happy because he knew he and Cosette were safe.

Chapter 6: Marius
Battle of Waterloo, June 1815, a thief was walking and picking up dead soldiers’ belongings until one of the bodies held his arm, it was the French officer thanking the thief Thenandiers for saving him, he said his name was Pontmercy and he should remember his name, and without saying anything the thief took his bag and walked into the darkness.
Now, many years later we are introduced to a boy named Marius, who lives with his grandfather, who was Pontmercy’s son, not knowing it, until one day he discovered a letter from his father saying what had happened, without telling his grandfather, he went to Paris to visit his father but the only think he found was a letter a story about the Battle of Waterloo and how his life was saved by a man called Thenandier, who Marius promised to help.
When he gets home his grandfather discovers that he was visiting his father and fights with Marius, who runs away from home.
As he was underage and had no money, he found a job that didn’t make a lot of money but was enough to support himself, after a year he was walking through the park when he saw a beautiful girl with her father sitting on a bench in the park, and the other day, and the other day, he ended up falling in love with the girl, until after 6 months the father and the girl didn’t show up, he asked everyone until he found their address and went by, but it was too late they had already left

Chapter 7
Marius was walking in the streets of Paris when he came face to face with 2 girls who apparently were fleeing from the police. During the escape they dropped a package, Marius took the package and took it home. When he got home he opened the package and had 4 cards, all asking for money.
The other day a woman named Jondrette knocked on his door and handed him a letter, reading the letter he recognized that it was the same handwriting as the letters he had read the other day and then handed the letters to the woman. After seeing the letters the woman cried in thanks and Marius gave her money and she thanked him.
Even though Marius didn’t have a lot of money in his life he was never very poor like Jondrette.
Marius was spying on his neighbors through a hole in the wall and suddenly, there was a knock at the door, an old man and a younger woman, his beloved.
After all that, Marius went to the police station to report all the events that happened that morning and told Inspector Javert. After a big fight between Mr. Leblanc and Thenardier, Marius threw a brick saying that the police was arriving and that they were to leave as soon as possible, but there was no time and they were caught, only the prisoner who managed to escape in a carelessness of Javert
