Para fazer capoeira é preciso fazer movimentos ágeis e harmoniosos em ritmo de música e aspectos coreográficos. Os movimentos com membros inferiores e
com a cabeça são mais utilizados. Sendo o principal instrumento usado o Berimbau. Existem 3 estilos de capoeira, e esses são:
- CAPOEIRA ANGOLA: A mais antiga, da época da escravidão: golpes jogados próximos ao chão, ritmo musical MAIS LENTO, durante a roda os participantes não batem palma. Mestre Pastinha.
- CAPOEIRA REGIONAL: Ritmo musical mais acelerado e golpes MAIS RÁPIDOS e aéreos. Seu principal representante é o Mestre Bimba.
- CAPOEIRA CONTEMPORÂNEA: Mais praticado atualmente, une características dos estilos anteriores.

- CAPOEIRA ANGOLA: The oldest one, from the time of slavery: blows near the ground, a slower rhythm in the music, during the circle the participants do not clap their hands. Their main representative is Mestre Pastinha.
- REGIONAL CAPOEIRA: The rhythm from the music is faster and the blows QUICKER and overhead. Their main representative is Mestre Bimba.
- CONTEMPORARY CAPOEIRA: It is the most practice today, it’s main characteristics are a mix from the styles above
